BGRC Digital Campaign
BGRC Digital Campaign
Bellingham Girls Rock Camp, or BGRC, is a Bellingham non-profit that teaches young womxn and girls music and life skills. They were in need of some social media spots to encourage young girls to apply to their camps. I provided a logo refresh as well as several digital formats of punk rock inspired promotional material.
Promotional Material
This campaign showcases various female musicians performing, with BGRC’s classic magenta overlay, and varying typefaces in a cut-and-paste style, referencing Riot Grrrl zine culture.
Old Logo
Logo Refresh
The goal was to clean up BGRC’s logo while maintaining the key elements in their original. I created a custom logotype based off of the original typeface used in “Girls Rock,” and did away with the excess to keep the logo simple yet bold, strong, and in your face.
Moodboard
BGRC already draws inspiration, both aesthetically and in their values, from the Riot Grrrl movement of the 90’s. This female-fronted punk rock scene was often expressed in zine formats, featuring various typefaces, cut-and-paste text and images, gritty textures from Xerox machines, and handwritten text or snippets from typewriters.
