LTSB Web Design
LAND TRUST OF SANTA BARBARA WEB DESIGN
The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County conserves natural resources, agricultural land and open spaces for the benefit of present and future generations. The LTSB was looking for an updated website that felt modern, beautiful, and accessible to people of all ages and languages, while also showcasing everything that Santa Barbara County has to offer its community.
I designed two web pages for them under the art direction of Kerry Franz of Wildforth Creative, loosely following the general wireframes created by their developer. The pages I designed were to be used as a style guide that their in-house developer would use to finish the rest of the website.
The LTSB had limited brand guidelines and they expressed a desire to expand their brand through the launching of this new site. In the name of brand expansion, I took liberties with creative design decisions (keeping their original logos and color palette) and riffed off of the wireframes they provided, following them more generally rather than literally. The final result is clean, bold, and approachable, providing the LTSB plenty of avenues for future brand expansion while accomplishing today’s goals.
A few instances of motion graphics were added to the site to keep the feeling modern and unique.
We incorporated bold graphic elements such as a dynamic carousel and optimistic icons to balance out the clean typography and uplift the user.
High contrast, saturated colors paired with simple, yet bold typography and beautiful photography showcase the wonders of Santa Barbara County while remaining clean and accessible.
